Weston Lawns is a family business and is run by Mark & Helen Wells, with the help of
their family, friends and staff. Our aim is to offer friendly and efficient
competitions, clinics and liveries at all levels to all levels of riders and
supporters.
Background
Weston Lawns opened our doors to the public in 2002. Since then, a staggering
40,000+ people have utilised our facility. Catering for virtually every equestrian
discipline, the centre has become renowned for staging excellent quality events by
both professional and amateur riders. 2006 has seen our centre undergo a major
development, with the installation of a new International sized all-weather arena,
new all-weather warm-up arena, entertainment marquee, temporary stabling and two new
International sets of show jumps, which are completely unique to this country.
Our facility now boasts the capability of staging large-scale equestrian events,
despite what the UK's weather might throw at us!
As a testament to our centre's high standards and standing within the equestrian
community, we have been asked to run Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers for 6 and
7 year old Show Jumping Horses.
We will also be holding the British Dressage
regional finals, Junior BSJA premier show, British Event Team Training and World
Class Performance training.
We aim to cater for all levels and we will be holding
an unaffiliated Championship Jumping Show
Helen is a keen jumping competitor herself and organized many competitions at
National and International level for British Dressage. "What I would like to
do now is put the knowledge and experience that I have to good use and run top
level competitions here at Weston Lawns"
With a background in arable farming Mark is now putting his knowledge into
the infrastructure of centre, being responsible for the design the arenas,
stabling and entire site itself. He's also been fundamental in the actual
construction of the facilities you see here today - man with JCB, will travel!
He has also become somewhat of an equestrian expert from the sidelines
too........!!
What does the future hold?
Following on from the tremendous success of the events over the last
few years we intend to continue our development programme initiated this
year by improving and expanding the lorry park, a new entrance off the road
and additional temporary stabling. We're keen to increase the number of
two/three day events held, which we hope will incorporate more regional
finals, series qualification classes, age and HOYS qualification classes.
